what conclusions can we make from the theoretical verification of k+u=constant, for a freely falling body?

For a freely falling body, the total mechanical energy at any point along the path is the same i.e., the total mechanical energy of the body throughout the free fall is conserved. As the body falls down, the potential energy goes on decreasing whereas the kinetic energy goes on increasing.
