Warm blooded animals maintain a relatively constant and warm body temperature independent of environmental temperature. They are also called homeothermic or endothermic animals. Warm-blooded animals maintain thermal homeostasis; that is, they keep their body temperature at a constant level.
Cold blooded animals have a body temperature that rises or falls with the temperature of the surrounding environment. They are also called ectothermic animals.
