ii) Different types of  cells form various layers of this epithelium. eg - inner layers may show cuboidal cells whereas whereas the outer layers show flattened cells.

iii)  Keratin is usually present in the outermost layer of this epithelium.

iv) This epithelium rests on a basement membrane.

v) This epithelium helps to prevent wear and tear and helps in protecting against injury.

This epithelium is found in skin.
