Pollutants that are not emitted directly but are formed in the atmosphere due to chemical reactions between the primary pollutants and the constituents of atmosphere are known as secondary pollutants. For example, Ozone is formed when hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxide react with each other in the presence of sunlight.
