what are genes?, and what is chromosomes and chromatin?

Gene is a hereditary unit consisting of a sequence of DNA that occupies a specific location on a chromosome and determines a particular characteristic in an organism.
Chromosome is a threadlike linear strand of DNA and associated proteins present in the nucleus cells that carries the genes and functions in the transmission of hereditary information.
Chromatin is the densely packaged and organized complex of DNA and protein that forms the chromosome
