Complex tissues consist of more than one type of cells, all of which coordinate to perform a similar function. The different complex tissues in plants are xylem and phloem.
Functions of xylem:
They carry water and mineral salts upwards from roots to different parts of the plant.
They provide mechanical strength to the plant body.
Function of phloem:
Phloem transports the food materials from leaves to other parts of the plant.
