Expert Answer:
In Greek theatre, the chorus were a group of unidentified characters who commented on the action and told of possible bad events to happen. Salerio and Solanio are chorus characters in The Merchant of Venice. For instance, in Act2 Secene 8, Salarino and Solanio are present on stage, having a conversation, becuase of which the audience is informed about the recent action. The characters have their own approach, or style of portraying how Lorenzo and Jessica eloped, Shylock’s reaction and how Antonio bid Bassanio farewell.
