  The oxides which are formed by the reaction of metal and oxygen,   or those oxides which react with acids or acidic oxides to form salts and water are called basic oxides.and acidic oxides are formed by the reaction of nonmetal and oxygen.or acidic oxides react with bases or basic oxides to form salt and water.
