We wish to obtain an equal sized inverted image of a candle flame on a screen kept at a distance of 4m from the candle flame.  (a) What should be the focal length of the lens?

(a) Type of lens :- Converging or convex lens

(b) If F is focal length, then candle (object ) is placed at a distance 2F from lens .
Image with magnification m = -1 is formed at other side of lens at a distance 2F from lens.

Hence 4F = 4 m ,  focal length of lense = 1 m , Candle is placed at a distance 2 m
