We know that for a floating body its weight = upthrust , thus it must be in the condition of weightlessness. Now if we throw a floating body in water container then THERE MUST BE NO CHANGE IN CONTAINER'S INITIAL WEIGHT.....as the body we have threw is weightless ( because its floating) ......m i right? please give explanation. Thank you

Expert Answer:
Body's apparent weight (not actual weight) is zero because of the upthrust acting on it. However, since the body adds some mass to the container, there will be some change in the container's initial weight.
