Wave motion refers to the transfer of energy by propagation of a periodic disturbance . Such a disturbance may be due to the displacement of molecules of a gas, or the displacement of the elemants of a string etc.

Polarization the phenonmenon of restricting the vibrations during transverse wave motion to a single plane . Eg. Some sunglasses polarize the ligt passing throug them, reduing glare.
