wat is the reason behind the brrilance of diamond?

Actually there are two main reasons. The refractive index of diamond is very high around 2.4 , it means that critical angle for diamond is very less( critical angle comes in total internal reflection) so there is high probebility of total internal reflection of light when it enters the diamond. Dimond cutters cut the diamond  in a particular way so that when the light enters the diamond it must get total internal by the different faces.
 
Thats why light seems coming out from from every face of diamond and it sparkle.
