When a no. of resistors are connected in parallel, the potential difference ( voltage drop ) across each resistance is same but when a no. of resistors are connected in series, the potential difference ( voltage drop ) across each resistance is not same.
we would like to understand where you are getting stuck on this question, once we are clear, we would be able to explain things better.
