(i) Draw the number line, at point 1 draw a perpendicular of unit length mark the upper point as A. Join the upper end A to number zero marked as O.
(ii) OA = square root 2. From point O draw an arc on number line of radius =OA, mark te point as P.
(iii) At P draw a perpendicular of length 1 unit. Mark the upper point as B. Join OB OB = 3.
(iv). From O draw an arc on number line of radius = OB, mark the point as Q. Q represents the length of 3 on number lne.
