Two stations A and B are situated in such a way that their distance from point O (origin) are 6 km and 8 km respectively and they are in north and east directions. Find the distance between A and B.

Two stations A and B are situated in such a way that their distance from point O are 6 km and 8 km respectively.
 
Therefore, OAB is a right angled triangle right angled at O.
 
Thus, applying Pythagoras Theorem we have,
 
Thus, the distance between A and B is 10 km.
