In triangle ABC,
AB/BC = tan 45°
AB = BC = 75 m
In triangle ABD,
AB/BD = tan 30°
75/(BC + CD) = 1/√3
75/(75+CD) = 1/√3
Solving this we get CD = 75(√3 - 1)
The distance between two ships is 75(√3 - 1) m.
