Expert Answer

Since PQR is an equilateral triangle all the altitudes will be of same lengths and each altitudes will divide the sides of triangle in 2 equal parts.

In 1 small triangle 1 side is "a" other is "2a" and 3rd (altitude) we need to find.

Let that altitude = x

a2 + x2 = (2a)2

x2 = 4a2 - a2

x2 = 3a2

x = 3 a

altitude = 3 a
