CBSE Class 11-science Answered
To find the displacement of a body in simple harmonic motion, we have two formulas. One of them uses sine function and the other one uses cosine function. How am i supposed to understand which formula is to be used?

Expert Answer
Both of those formulas give the same results but with the difference that in one formula, we have chosen the mid point to be 0 and in other we chosen the extreme points to be zero.
It all depends on the initial conditions.
