answered-by-expert Expert Answer

Since the third particle experiences no force, the net force of attraction from the two particles must be zero.

F31 = F32

Gm1m3/(d/4)2 = Gm2m3/(d-d/4)2

m2/m1 =(d-d/4)2 / (d/4)2= 9
