Three cubes of metal whose edges are 2 cm, 3 cm and 4 cm are melted and a new cube is made. Find the volume of the new cube.

Volume of a cube of edge =

Volume of a cube of edge 2 cm (V1) = 8 cm3

Volume of a cube of edge 3 cm (V2) = 27 cm3

Volume of a cube of edge 4 cm (V3) = 64 cm3

Three cubes of metal whose edges are 2 cm, 3 cm and 4 cm are melted and a new cube is made.

Let V be the volume of the new cube.

Therefore, V = V1 + V2 + V3

                 V = 99 cm3
