CBSE Class 12-science Answered

This year, I am giving my 12th exam. Could you please tell me about how to prepare for JEE main exam. Also, will JEE advanced exam also be based on the topics discussed in the NCERT BOOKS(eg. problems on friction, elasticity) or will I have to prepare for it separately?

To prepare for JEE exam for physics, you should definitely go through HC Verma and do all its problems. Also, incase you are not doing any coaching, then Fundamentals of Physics by Resnick, Halliday, Walker is another good book. Also, for the JEE exam you should understand the fundamentals really well and not just go about learning various formulas. You can probably also look at the past year papers to get an idea of which type of questions are asked.

Generally, all the topics from which questions come in JEE are covered in  NCERT book. However, students from different boards give the exam and even though IITs try to find a common overlapping syllabus between all boards, sometimes its very difficult. I would recommend you to go through the syllabus listed on JEE website and study according to that.
