there are two equal chords within a circle.how can we prove that there segments are equal?

Use the fact that ,
if two chords of a circle are equal, then the corresponding arcs are congruent.
A segment is precisely the chord, its corresponding arc and the area bounderd by both taken together. This should give you the answer.
