There are 342 apples 627 mangoes and 836 guavas. These are to be arranged in heaps cointaining the same number of fruits. Find the greatest number of fruits possible in each heap. How many heaps are formed?

The greatest number of fruits possible in each heap is the HCF of the three numbers.
342 = 2 x 3 x 3 x 19
627 = 3 x 19 x 11
836 = 2 x 2 x 19 x 11
HCF(342, 627, 836) = 19
 
Now, 342 + 627 + 836 = 19(2 x 3 x 3 + 3 x 11 + 2 x 2 x 11) = 19(18 + 33 + 44) = 95
Thus, the number of heaps formed is 95.
