Then whether the size of noble gas is bigger than the alkali metals?

Expert Answer:

Alkali metals have largest atomic radii in a period.
The atomic radii of noble gases are expected to be the smallest, but comparatively they are large in size.
The reason is that in case of inert gases, the outer electronic shell is complete and hence the electron-electron repulsion increases.
