The question that you have posted is incorrect. Using the Euclid division lemma, when a positive integer a is divided by a non-zero positive integer b, then the possible remainders are all positive integers from 0 to b-1.
Therefore when a positive integer a is divided by 3, the possible remainders are 0, 1 and 2.
