Let the cost of one table and one char be Rs. x and Rs. y respectively.

Then,

x - y = 40       ....(i)

3x + 2y = 8745       ....(ii)

Multiplying (i) by 2,

2x - 2y = 80     ....(iii)

Adding (ii) and (iii),

5x = 8825

x = 1765

Then, 1765 - y = 40

y = 1725

Therefore, the cost of one table is Rs. 1765 and that of one chair is Rs. 1725.
