the sum of the digits of a two-digit number is 9. if 9 is added to the number formed by reversing the digits, then the results is thrice the original the number. find the original number.

let the number be 10x + y
x + y = 9 ......eqn.1
10y+x+9=3(10x+y)
10y+x+9=30x+3y
29x-7y=9......eqn.2
eqn.1×7
7x+7y=63.....eqn.3
add 2 and 3
36x=72
x=2
y=7
