The sum of the digits of a 2 digit number is 9.Also 9 times the number is twice the number obtained by reversing the digits.Find the number.

Expert Answer
Let the number be xy , x be tens digit and y be units digit
x+ y = 9
Original no = 10x+y , After reversing number = 10y+x
9(10x+ y) = 2(10y + x)
So
88x = 11y
y = 8x
On solving the two equations we get ,
x = 1 , y = 8
So number is 18
