the ratio of number of boys and girls in a school is 3:2. 20% of the boys and 25% of the girls are scholarship holders. then the percentage of students who are not scholarship holders is?

Let the total number of students be 100
 
Boys = 100*3/5 = 60
Girls = 100*2/5 = 40
 
Boys scholarship holders = 60*20/100 = 12
Non-scholarship holders = 60 - 12 = 48
 
Girls scholarship holders = 40*25/100 = 10
Non-scholarship holders = 40 – 10 = 30
 
Students who do not have scholarship = 48 + 30 = 78
Required percentage = 78/100*100 = 78%
