Given:
Mahesh's age = 20 years
His father's age = 50 years
Assume that x years ago Mahesh's father is 4 times as old as Mahesh.
Therefore Mahesh's age then = 20 - x and his father's age = 50 - x
According to the condition in the Question, we get
4(20 - x) = 50 -x
after solving, we get
x = 10
Therefore 10 years ago Mahesh's father is 4 times as old as Mahesh.
