1). 48 & 420

2) 65 & 460

3) 60 & 40

4)460 & 65....

Given answer is optiona (2) ...but i want explanation....  If u can then plzzz help

Expert Answer:

Total number of meiosis needed to produce 100 seeds = x + x/4 = 40 + 100/4 = 40+25= 65  
So, 65 meiotic divisions are required
 
Total number of mitotic division 
 
For male gametes, total number of divisions = 4n= 40x4= 160
For female gametes, total number of divisions= (2n+1)= 5x60= 300
 
So, total number of mitotic divisions= 300+160=460
