Expert Answer:
When the minute hand shows the time from 9.00 am to 9.30 am, then it has covered a distance equal to half the circumference of the circle of radius 7 cm.
Hence, the distance (d) covered by the minute hand is
Now, the displacement (s) of minute hand will be the shortest pah between the initial and final positions of the clock.
This is equal to the diameter of the circle or twice the length of the hand.
