Living cell is very active and many processes and activities go on continuously to carry out the various functions of the cell. These include synthesis of molecules like nucleic acids, proteins, fats etc., breakdown of compounds, diffusion, osmosis, transport of molecules, cell repair etc. There is constant movement of molecules and compounds throughout the cytoplasm, cell membrane and cell organelles. Thus we see that the living cell is a dynamic cell.
