The IUPAC name of this compound is (d) 3-pentanone. How? According to the rules first we will select the longest carbon chain, which is 5 carbon chain, that is pentane; then we will find out the type and position of functional group, which is carbonyl group at position 3. So the name is 3-pentanone.
