The inlet pipe can fill a tank in 3 hours while the outlet pipe can empty the full tank in 8 hours. How long will it take for the tank to fill up if the inlet and the outlet pipes are opened simultaneously?

Let, the time taken to fill the tank when both the inlet and the outlet pipes are opened simultaneously be x.
So, In 1 hr the part of tank which is filled = 1/x
 
According to the question,
begin mathsize 16px style 1 over straight x space equals space 1 over 10 space minus space 1 over 15 rightwards double arrow fraction numerator begin display style 1 end style over denominator begin display style straight x end style end fraction space equals fraction numerator 15 space minus space 10 over denominator 150 end fraction rightwards double arrow space straight x space equals space 150 over 5 equals space 30 end style
 
Therefore, the time taken to fill the tank when both the inlet and the outlet pipes are opened simultaneously is 30 hours.

Ans: Let B's age= x Then A's age= x+5 5years ago: B's age was= (x-5)yrs A's age was= (x+5-5)yrs = x yrs As per question: A's age/B' age= 3/2 x/x-5=3/2 2x=3x-15 3x-2x=15 B's Present age = x=15 yrs(Ans) A's present age= x+5= 15+5= 20 yrs(Ans) But, The answer given in the uploaded video are 5 yrs and 10 yrs Please recheck this.
