The external dimensions of a closed wooden box are 27cm, 19cm and 11cm. If the thickness of the wood is 1.5cm, find the volume of the wood and the cost of wood for manufacturing @ ruppees 1.50 per cubic cm. (4 marks)

Area of the wood of closed box of given dimension = 2×(27×19 + 19×11 + 27×11 ) = 1019 sq.cm
volume of wood = 1019×1.5 = 1528.5 cubic cm
cost of wood = 1528.5×1.5 = Rs. 2292.75
