The escape velocity from the earth for a peice of 10 g is 11.2 Km/s. what would be its value for 1 kg of the mass?

Expert Answer:

Escape Velocity = sqrt (2GM/R)

so, Escape velocity is directly proportional to sqrt of the mass

Since, 1 kg/ 10 gm = 100

so , the Escape velocity will be 10 times as that of 10gm mass.

so, Escape velocity will be 112 Km/s
