the engine of a train has to apply a force 5000n to over come friction to run at uniform rate of of 90 km per h .what is the power?

answered-by-expert Expert Answer
The speed of train = 90 km/h = 90 × 5/18 = 25 m/s

Thus, in one second, the train will travel a distance of 25 m.

Hence, work done by the engine is

W = Fs = 5000 × 25 = 125000 J

Thus, the power generated by the engine is

P = W/t = 125000/1 = 125000 W
