answered-by-expert Expert Answer
Suppose the number of atoms of Fe 3+ ions present is = x.
Then tn=he number of atoms of Fe2+ ions would be = (o.93 - x )
So, the total number of O2- ions = 1

For an electrically neutral compound,
total positive charge from  Fe2+ + Fe 3+ = total negative charge from   O2- ions.

Thus 3x  + (0.93 - x ) x2  = 2
or, x  + 1.86   = 2.
x = ( 2 - 1.86) = 0.14
% of Fe  3+ ions    0.14
                       ------   x 100  = 15.05
                        0.93

% of Fe  3+ ions is 15.05 %.
