CBSE Class 12-science Answered

The bond angles of trihalides of 15 grop elements decreases as the electronegetivity of the halogen increases.Please Explain.

Halogens with high electronegativity are smaller in size. For example F is smaller than other halides. The larger halides will repel each other in the trihalides, so they will tend to be apart, i.e. higher bond angles.
