Tell me what is the position of the ribs & diaphram in inhaling and exhaling oxygen?

During inspiration the muscles attached to ribs contract as a result ribs move outwards. The diaphragm moves downward which creates vacuum in the lungs and a fall in pressure and sucks the air from outside.
The vice versa movement of ribs and diaphragm facilitate exhalation.
