tell me fastest ways of finding squares and square roots(of big numbers)...

There are many tricks applicable to particular range of number. For example, use (a+b)2 = a2+2ab+b2, where a and b are simple smaller numbers.

1212 = (120+1)2 = 14400 + 24 + 1 = 14425 

For square roots find the nearest, number with 10s or 100, to the number, whose square root we are trying to find, then successive increase or decrease the guessed number so as to match the value we are looking for.
