Taxonomy is the science of classifying all living things by arranging them in groups according to the relationship of each to the others.
In taxonomy, the species are grouped into genera, genera into families, families into orders, orders into classes, classes into phyla, and phyla with similar characteristics at the top level of the classification system - the kingdom.
