Expert Answer
Dear student
The centripetal acceleration possessed by a revolving body is directed towards the centre of circle and has a value equal to v2/r , here v is the velocity of moving object and r is the radius of circular path.
Now, the direction of centipetal force or centripetal acceleration is always perpendicular to the direction of instantaneous velocity. As the instantaneous displacement is in the direction of instantaneous velocity , the instantaneous displacement of the particle is perpendicular to centripetal force. Hence no work is done by the centripetal force or the centripetal acceleration.
So such a force is called false or Pseudo force.
We hope this clarifies your doubt.
