Sunlight is incident on a concave mirror, parallel to its principal axis.The image is formed at a distance of 12 cm from the pole. Find the radius of curvature of the mirror.

Expert Answer:

When light is incident parallel on a concave mirror, it gets reflected onto the focus. Hence, the image is formed at the focus.
Thus, the focal length is f = 12 cm.
Now, radius of curvature is twice the focal length.
R = 2f = 24 cm
