These movements take place due to the difference in the ratio of growth of different parts. Nastic movement is a type of curvature movement.

Nastic movements are non-directional responses to stimuli. Nastic movements are responses to stimuli that uniformly affect the plant or else elicit a uniform response regardless of the direction they come from.
