speed of light is 300000km/s and of sound is 355m/s then how both of them reach to us at same time

When we are talking to somebody the distance is very less. With such high speeds ,the difference in the time taken for the light to travel is very small . For sound its of the order of milli seconds and for light its of the order of 10-8 sec. This time elapse is prominent at large distance as for lightning where we see the lightning before we hear the thunder.
