Where: S- displacement = 500m
             a - acceleration = g = 10m/s

u - initial velocity = 0m/s

Hence , 500 = 1/2x(10)x (t1)2 =>       t1 = (100)1/2 sec = 10sec
The time taken by the sound to reach the top of the tower from the pond = t2 = 500/340 seconds = 1.47 seconds

Hence the total time after which the sound of the splash reaches the top of the tower is 10+1.47 = 11.47 seconds
