take 1/x=u and 1/y=v
so the equations become
u-2v=-2...(i)
2u+v=16...(ii)
multiplying (i) by 2 and solving both equations we get,
2u-4v=-4
2u+v=16
solving,we get,
v=4
u=6
so
x=1/6
y=1/4
substituting this in the equation, 2y=qx+5, we get
q=-27
