Let the width of the garden be w metres. Hence the length,l becomes w+4
So, the perimeter = 2(w+w+4) = 2(2w+4) = 4w+8
Hence,
(4w+8)/2 = 36
=> 2w + 4 = 18
=> w + 2 = 9
=> w = 7 metres
hence, l = 7+4 = 11 metres
The dimensions of the garden are 11metres and 7 metres
